The Conservative Party has a strong presence in the South Gloucestershire area.
The Leader of the South Gloucestershire Conservative group is Cllr Liz Brennan, Councillor for the Frenchay & Downend. As the Leader of the Conservative Group he is proud to lead the team of very hard working Conservative Councillors in such a vibrant area.
South Gloucestershire is part of the historic County of Gloucestershire and about one third of the residents of Gloucestershire live in South Gloucestershire. South Gloucestershire Council is a unitary council, therefore it carries out the functions of both a county council and a district council. Most of South Gloucestershire is also covered by Town and Parish Councils, and many of the councillors on those councils are Conservative.
