Senior Conservative Councillor Richard Eddy has secured a commitment from the Bristol Mayor Marvin Rees to work to establish a new recycling centre on Hartcliffe Way by the end of his Mayoral term of office, in 2020.

Cllr Eddy (Con, Bishopsworth), a longstanding campaigner for this facility, tabled a series of questions probing the Labour Mayor’s commitment to building the centre at the Full Council, held on 18th July 2017.

Since 2010 unemployment has fallen by 3.5% and is now at its lowest level since 1975.

Boost to Schools Funding

The Education Secretary, Justine Greening, has announced an extra £1.3 billion boost to core schools funding.

Investing in technical education

Our young people deserve the best possible start in life. That’s why we are investing £65 million in technical education -  £15 million to ensure we have the colleges and teachers needed to deliver the new T-Levels, and £50 million from April 2018 to fund high quality work placements.
