The unitary district of South Gloucestershire is represented by two Conservative members in Parliament, Jack Lopresti MP for Filton and Bradley Stoke, and Chris Skidmore MP, for Kingswood. Additionally, the South Gloucestershire Council is in minority Conservative control, with Leader of the Council and cabinet member, Councillor John Calway (Con., Longwell Green), and Deputy Leader of Council, Councillor Sheila Cook (Con., Almondsbury).
