Cllr Sam Bromiley at Grimsbury Farm

Councillors have launched a petition to save Grimsbury Farm in Kingswood as fears have emerged over its future.

The Conservative opposition group on South Gloucestershire Council understands that the Liberal Democrat/Labour coalition is currently considering the future of Grimsbury Farm, with the farm potentially either being sold or permanently closed.

The council’s website currently indicates that an item called ‘Options for Grimsbury Farm’ will be presented to Cabinet later this month, though it is understood that this has been delayed until the new year. Nevertheless, the item is still visible online.

The Conservative Group has also heard from sources close to Grimsbury Farm, and from those involved in making the decision, that the Labour/Lib Dem-led council has been looking at off-loading the farm for almost a year but has not disclosed any details to the public.

In response, the Conservative Group has launched a petition urging the administration to make a commitment to keeping the farm open.

To sign the petition to save Grimsbury Farm, please fill in the survey below.
