A councillor is leading the charge to fix a “crumbling” Frenchay road.
Cllr Liz Brennan, one of South Gloucestershire Council’s representatives for Frenchay and Downend, is working with local residents on Malmains Drive to fix the road outside their homes after the construction of a new housing development caused serious damage.
The road in the Malmains Drive and Manor Gardens area has deteriorated in recent months and residents have raised numerous safety concerns.
As a result, Liz has launched a petition calling on both the developers and South Gloucestershire Council to get the road fixed as quickly as possible.
Cllr Liz Brennan said: “It’s really shocking to see how much this stretch of road has deteriorated during construction of the nearby housing development.
“Despite the issue being repeatedly raised by me and the residents, we still have no guarantee of action.
“The council and the developers need to get around the table and make sure this crumbling road surface is fixed as soon as possible before it results in any serious accidents.”
The petition aims to ensure the resurfacing is carried out, prevent any costs from being passed to residents and restore trust with clear communication and prompt action.
